Type of Cabin Fans and Their Features

Best cabin fans can be divided into two primary types based on rotation

Rotating type Cabin Fan: These fans are basically loaded with rotation mechanism to provide oscillation to circulate the air in all the sides and corner. This moving mechanism is often known as gyroscopic motion. It is recommend not to install such rotating types cabin fan in place, where no space for movement such as corner of room.

Non–Rotating type Cabin Fan: As name suggests, this type of fans are exactly opposite of rotating fans. There is no use of gyroscopic mechanism, therefore they do not cover much area unlike rotating fans. This type of fans are often design with wider blades to cover maximum area.

How to Clean Cabin Fan

If you do not clean the fan for a longer time, a lot of dirt and dust will be deposited in all parts of it. It will decrease the efficiency and overall performance of fan. To avoid such inconvenience, you should clean your fan at regular interval. You need to take note of few things in order to clean it properly. Here are some tips to clean cabin fan.

  • Step 1: Turn off the power supply of the fan. Once the fan blades are completely stopped. Open the front side and back side grill with a screwdriver.
  • Step 2: In the second step add some washing agent mix into hot water and clean the blades and grills of the fan using wet cloth. After that, remove any extra moisture with another dry & clean cloth. After cleaning blades and grills, take brush to clean the dirt in motor of the fan. You may use vacuum cleaner to get this process easier.
  • Step 3: In last step, leave the blades and the grills of the fan dry for 10-15 minutes in ambience temperature. When all the parts of the fan are completely dry, attach the grills and the blades of the fan to respective location. Just plug the fan in, check whether it working properly. Keeping this preventative cleaning will ensure better life of cabin fan.
